J.EHREN/BECOMING

A visual story of becoming—bearing witness to the rise of J.EHREN: a brand, a subculture, and a community in motion.

2014-2015
SAMOA
A body of work exploring the Samoan tradition of tatau—its artistry, its culture, and its enduring legacy. Created as part of Tatau: Marks of Polynesia, organized by the Japanese American National Museum (JANM), curated by Takahiro “Ryudaibori” Kitamura, and toured internationally by Flying Fish.

2015-2016
ABOVEALASKA
Above Alaska is born of fascination with this vast wilderness: an attempt to witness glacial recession, shifting habitats, and changing terrain, and to translate them into images that engage both eye and spirit.

2019-2020
QUEER

Q U E E R is a series of Polaroid SX-70 prints—sixty small windows into queer culture as I’ve lived it. Together they trace our progress, remind us of the work ahead, and echo the textures of queer histories past.

2023ongoing
